Fees & FAQ
How long is a therapy session?
A session is 50 minutes for individual and couples work.
How often are the sessions?
It is usual for sessions to be weekly.
What if I can't make a session?
If you are going to be unable to attend I ask that you let me know a week in advance. Where possible I will offer an alternative appointment.
For cancellations 48 hours notice is required otherwise the full fee for the session will be charged.
Payment should be made for missed sessions or late cancellations before the next appointment.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on the type of the work to be done, we are all different as are the issues people seek to change through therapy.
- Short-term therapy of 4-8 sessions can be helpful when both the issue and wanted outcome are clearly identifiable.
- Medium-term therapy of 8-16 sessions can be helpful were the issue is unclear or where a number of issues are impacting on each other.
- Longer-term therapy may be agreed to where the client has successfully addressed the presenting issues and now wishes to work on
- increasing understanding and awareness of self.
It can be useful to set review periods where we reflect on the progress made and identify future treatment direction.
When will my therapy end?
Together we will identify if the changes you wanted have been achieved.
I ask for two sessions notice of closure in order to work on our ending in the therapy.
